Nature of Duties:

Under the direction and guidance of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for the support of the branch and the Bank by actively contributing to the achievement of individual and corporate goals. Recognizes cross-sell opportunities to actively promote the Bank’s products and services. Assists the Branch Manager in reaching the branch business development goal by actively participating in business calls with the branch manager. Makes recommendations to branch manager for sales and marketing ideas. Ensures the delivery of quality service at the teller level, overseeing operational/security functions, resolving problems, developing staff and coaching for optimum performance. Provides additional operation support in the absence of the Teller Supervisor or management support in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Branch Operations:

With the assistance of the Teller Supervisor, the Assistant Manager oversees the daily operations of the branch to ensure excellent customer service is being provided and tasks are completed according to bank standards by modeling and monitoring compliance with all applicable bank policies and procedures by effectively delegating work as needed. Resolves customer problems and concerns to ensure quality customer service according to our banks standards are being met. Completes branch audits and monitors branch activities to ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures. Complies with established procedures, policies and regulations and maintain current knowledge by participating in compliance training and continuing education programs as directed by management. Monitors the purchasing of all branch supplies to meet budgeted goals.

Supervisory:

Motivates the staff in reaching individual and corporate goals by providing strong leadership and acting as a role model. Evaluates the performance of all customer service representatives to ensure performance meets bank standards by documenting and updating personnel files as needed.

Requirement:

Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Minimum five years of experience in related banking field or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in managing, supervising and developing staff. Extensive knowledge of banking, with concentration in retail products and banking regulations. Understanding of consumer loan products and documentation to include completed applications, origination, underwriting and closing procedures. Strong written organizational, time management and MS Office (Word & Excel) skills. A high degree of motivation, an exemplary attitude and commitment to service.
