JOB SUMMARY

The Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a full-service branch office, including operations, lending, product sales, customer service, and security and safety in accordance with the Bank’s objectives. The BM develops new deposit and loan business; provides a superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation; and achieves individual and branch sales goals through new business sales, referrals and retention of account relationships. The BM provides leadership, training and supervision; delegates day to day operations to the Assistant Branch Manager. The BM is responsible for attaining established Bank and branch goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Demonstrates proficiency in Teller I, Teller II, Head Teller, and Personal Banker job duties and performs such duties as assigned. Accountable for maximizing revenues, sales, customer satisfaction, and minimizing operational losses, as well as deepening existing relationships. Adheres to all operational, security, risk, and regulatory policies and procedures. Coaches/Counsels employees as needed according to the progressive discipline procedures. Completes consumer loans from application to closing. Communicates changes in policy and procedure to staff. Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff; provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives. Coordinate s with the Retail Banking Manager in implementing and carrying out bank policy and procedures with respect to overall operations of branch. Establishes and helps to attain internal performance objectives for branch office volume, deposits, loan portfolios and quality audit reports. Directs branch business development through outside calls, in-branch selling, branch campaigns, and targeted direct mailing. Directs hiring, employee development, branch performance management, and compensation review and recommendation for branch staff. Ensures personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Flexible assisting in all areas of the branch and occasionally in other branches/departments. Follows current loans and lines of credit to ensure complete compliance with terms Generates new business within branch market for deposit accounts, loans, and cash management. Manage consumer loan requests along with the understanding of the loan policy and loan procedures. Manages the overall branch office. Participates in community activities to promote the organization and to build goodwill. Resolves escalated customer and staff issues and provides counseling to staff as needed with limited guidance and direction from senior leadership and Human Resources. Responsible for business development within the branch market to meet or exceed business development goals. Sells and services all bank deposit applications and consumer lending products.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance related field, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years cash handling experience preferred. Minimum Five (5) years banking experience preferred. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Working knowledge of Federal and State banking regulations.
