Salary:

$25-28/hr Vaco is currently in search of anAccounts Payable Specialistto support a mid-sized company, headquartered inBirmingham, AL. This position is a high volume Accounts Payable and the ideal candidate will be able to understand complex transactions, perform research on payables and possess the ability to make decisions.

Responsibilities:

Review all accounts payable invoices for appropriate documentation and make approval prior to payment
Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and/or payment terms
Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
Prepare and process accounts payable checks, wire transfers and ACH payments
Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
Reconcile vendor statements
Assist in month end closing
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
Resolve invoice discrepancies
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Assist with other projects as needed
Produce monthly reports

Requirements:

All candidates must possess a positive attitude and healthy work ethic. Additionally, all candidates should be able to work in a team environment
Prior experience in accounting, specifically in Accounts Payable, is required,SAPexperience is aplus
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Able to perform office computer functions (Microsoft Office Product; Windows, Excel, Word and various proprietary software programs) on a daily basis
