Responsibilities:
The Payment Processing Specialist is a part-time position that is responsible for processing checks and ACH’s for the organization. Process payments in software system based on accounts payable registers Process payments for United Way of Central Alabama, Inc. and related subsidiaries and affiliates Verify customer and accounting information is accurate Verify internal approvals have been obtained and documented Enter data into software system in a timely manner Maintain organized records of transactions including a general cash disbursement book Assist Accounts Payable Manager by providing transaction documentation upon request Other duties as assigned Knowledge /
Skills:
High integrity Basic accounting and mathematical skills Ability to remain focused under pressure Detail Oriented Understanding of accounts payable process Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets Ability to learn new software systems; experience in Abila or MIP software a plus Comfortable working in a team environment
Education & Experience:
Relevant accounts payable or check processing experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment Hours range between 16 and 24 hours per week based on workload
