Job Overview:
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Senior Accounts Payable Clerk to support key financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of core accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. This position requires proficiency in Excel and the ability to quickly learn internal financial systems and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices and verify accuracy using standard matching procedures Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies or inquiries Review and manage employee expense reports, ensuring compliance and proper coding Calculate and remit applicable taxes, such as use tax Support accounts receivable processes and serve as a backup when needed Track and report on freight and other recurring expenses Maintain accurate records for temporary employee payroll Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with company procedures Provide cross-functional support across the accounting department
Qualifications:
