General Summary:
Under minimal supervision, this position performs complex financial duties requiring the application of financial record keeping practices and clerical coordination including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and assets inventory. Primarily responsible for maintaining accurate records that include invoices, receipts, ledgers, and journal entries, the Accounting Specialist also performs administrative and other tasks as needed. Essential Job Functions:
A. Open and organize payable invoices B. Process payables transactions C. Run payables validation D. Process payments by check, credit card, and electronic funds transfer E. Create miscellaneous AR transactions F. Process bank deposits G. Receive, process, and reconcile bank statements H. Run daily AR/AP/Cost Management/Sales reports in Oracle I. Assist Accounting Manager with month-end closing J. Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations K. Process bi-weekly payroll journal entry L. Assist with quarterly inventory M. Assist with preparation for annual audits N. Maintain asset listing for property tax III.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements :
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Experience:
Minimum of three years hands-on accounting experience in a manufacturing facility
Personal/Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office skills are required IV.
Work Environment/Conditions :
Office:
Open office environment, moderate noise level
Plant:
Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
Travel:
Must be willing to travel 0-10% of the time V.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time and is occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds.
