Accounting Clerk II Madison County Commission – 3.7 Huntsville, AL Job Details Full-time $38,584 – $61,672 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Mid-level 2 years Full Job Description JOB This is difficult bookkeeping, clerical work and accounting work of limited scope. Work involves the application of standard accounting principles to the maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of reports. Employees are responsible for interpreting statutory and other requirements related to maintenance of records and preparation of reports. Work is performed under general administrative supervision and is reviewed through periodic audits and study of reports submitted. Employees may supervise one or more clerical or accounting clerical assistants.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
(All duties listed may not be included in any one position nor does the list include all tasks found in a position of this class.)Maintains revenue and expenditure control accounts for certain fiscal transactions. Posts revenues and expenditures to proper funds. Prepares periodic financial statements.
Reconciles bills, requisitions, purchase orders and invoices.
Makes payments of various expenses of the office or miscellaneous expenses of other county offices and functions.
Assists in preparation of annual budget.
Prepares reports for and advises department heads on budget balances available.
Maintains a variety of accounts and records of materials and activities.
Performs related work as required.
