Accounts Payable Specialist 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Avon, CT 06001 We are looking for a detail-oriented AP Specialist/Junior Accountant to join our client’s team! This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your accounting expertise in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing vendor relationships, processing payments, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, disbursements, and reconciliations. Maintain and nurture effective vendor relationships to ensure timely communication and resolution of payment issues. Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy in accrual accounting processes. Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts payable to ensure consistency and eliminate discrepancies. Collaborate with the accounting team to support month-end and year-end closing processes. Review and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in all financial transactions. Utilize accounting software, such as Intacct, to efficiently manage accounts payable functions. Monitor and report on accounts payable metrics to support financial decision-making. Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice management and vendor relations. Proficiency in accrual accounting and journal entry preparation. Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Intacct. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities to ensure financial accuracy. Effective communication skills to work with vendors and internal teams. Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
