Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Orange, Connecticut. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing cash applications, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work with accounting systems and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities:
  • Process and apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts.
  • Reconcile financial transactions to ensure records are complete and correct.
  • Maintain the accounts receivable inbox and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to track and analyze payment activity.
  • Handle billing functions, including invoicing and payment follow-ups.
  • Process checks and monitor cash activity to ensure proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and improve workflows.
  • Work with accounting software systems such as Great Plains and
IBM AS/400.
  • Generate reports and provide insights on accounts receivable performance.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to customer accounts and payments. Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Great Plains and
IBM AS/400.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with processing payments, billing functions, and cash activity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to reconcile financial records accurately.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in maintaining organized and accurate financial documentation.
