Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Pompano Beach, Florida. This is a Contract-to-permanent position within the manufacturing industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization while gaining valuable experience. The ideal candidate will manage high-volume invoice processing, vendor relations, and ensure timely payments, all while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Process approximately 200 invoices weekly, ensuring accuracy through three-way matching and coordinating follow-ups with internal teams.
- Manage accounts payable for five separate entities, handling manual data entry and invoice scanning into the company’s system.
- Conduct weekly check runs, processing up to 75 invoices, and ensuring payments are made promptly.
- Oversee sales tax reporting by understanding vendor systems and their tax reporting variations.
- Collaborate with vendors to facilitate early payments and resolve any discrepancies.
- Utilize accounting software such as Databasics, ERP systems, and other tools to maintain financial records effectively.
- Perform account coding and ensure compliance with accrual accounting principles.
- Support auditing processes and maintain accurate documentation for financial records.
- Assist in the training and adaptation to company-specific accounting platforms, as needed. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software systems, including ERP platforms and tools like Databasics.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and account coding practices.
- Familiarity with handling sales tax reporting and vendor payment systems.
- Ability to perform manual data entry with accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills for vendor relations and internal coordination.
- Knowledge of financial processes such as ACH payments and auditing.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
