Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have experience handling sensitive financial information and possess strong organizational and data entry skills.
Responsibilities:
- Post and reconcile financial accounts, including payroll and agency fund accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory guidelines.
- Verify, receipt, and prepare daily cash and check deposits from various operational divisions.
- Maintain detailed Excel spreadsheets to allocate deposit amounts to appropriate fund disbursement codes.
- Prepare and secure bank deposit bags for armored car pickup, ensuring daily grand totals are accurate.
- Reconcile daily activity logs and financial reports from multiple locations.
- Manage and update electronic records for payments such as bonds, restitution, and deferred payments, ensuring proper documentation.
- Prepare monthly balances and reconcile various trust accounts in compliance with statutory regulations.
- Compile and prepare invoices, vendor payments, and financial reports for review by management.
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations required by county and state agencies.
- Balance vendor charges and financial accounts while compiling audit and statistical data as needed. Requirements
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and financial record management.
- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Strong skills in data entry and invoice processing.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.
- Understanding of standard accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently and exercise judgment in resolving accounting issues.
