Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy in payment transactions, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle accounts payable transactions to ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors.
- Conduct three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to validate vendor payments.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in billing and matching processes.
- Apply appropriate discounts to vendor payments and ensure compliance with payment terms.
- Verify that all transactions adhere to company accounting policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain detailed accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and filing systems.
- Assist in the monthly closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform administrative tasks and handle additional duties as assigned.
- Support internal controls by ensuring adherence to established procedures. Requirements
- Prior experience with accounts payable processes and three-way matching is preferred.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
- Capable of multitasking and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact, maturity, and flexibility to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; intermediate skills are considered a plus.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when required.
- Competency in typing and 10-key data entry skills is essential.
