Job Description

Bookkeeper
We are looking for a part-time experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in Jacksonville, Florida. This role involves overseeing financial processes and ensuring accurate record-keeping for a nonprofit organization. Hours are flexible, but the position requires in-office work to manage deposits and other essential tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and address discrepancies.
  • Transition financial records from Realm software to QuickBooks for Nonprofits.
  • Handle payroll coordination with external payroll service providers.
  • Monitor fund-based accounting to allocate donations and fundraising proceeds appropriately.
  • Process weekly deposits, including Sunday service collections.
  • Maintain clear and organized financial documentation to support audits and reporting.
  • Assist in catching up on overdue bookkeeping tasks and resolving prior financial issues.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure financial goals are met.
  • A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proficiency in financial software, including QuickBooks and Realm.
  • Strong skills in account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with fund-based accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work on-site with flexible hours as required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and diplomacy when working with staff and leadership.
  • Experience with payroll coordination and month-end close procedures.
