Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will handle a variety of administrative and accounting tasks, including invoicing, data entry, and front desk duties. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your organizational and financial expertise to a dynamic construction industry environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process and code invoices accurately, matching them to corresponding purchase orders.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
- Assist with billing functions, including the preparation and review of invoices.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, sorting and distributing as necessary.
- Answer and direct a low volume of phone calls, providing excellent customer service.
- Monitor cash activities and assist in reconciling financial transactions.
- Utilize accounting software systems, including Great Plains and ADP, to complete financial tasks.
- Support general front desk administrative duties as needed. Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Great Plains and ADP.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Familiarity with billing functions and financial reconciliation tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Previous experience in the construction or contractor industry is a plus.
