Tampa, FL Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, coding, and approval. Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records. Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting. Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Assist with audits by providing documentation and supporting schedules as needed. Perform other administrative tasks related to accounts payable as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with ERP systems is a plus. Knowledge of Florida tax regulations and compliance is an advantage.
