Bookkeeper Position Available In Hillsborough, Florida

Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will handle key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records and efficient processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the smooth operation of our financial systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including billing and payment processing.
• Prepare and record journal entries, maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Process deposits, issue invoices, and handle check disbursements.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks (online and desktop) and CCH ProSystem to manage financial data.
• Conduct month-end close activities, ensuring all records are complete and accurate.
• Assist with payroll processing and related tasks.
• Support write-up work by maintaining detailed financial documentation and analysis.
• Collaborate with team members to address financial discrepancies and improve processes. Requirements
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (online and desktop) and familiarity with CCH ProSystem is preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and chart of accounts.
• Ability to handle month-end close processes with accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and related accounting tasks.
• Previous experience in a tax firm is a plus but not required.
