Accounting Assistant Position Available In Lee, Florida

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Bonita Springs, Florida. In this role, you will support our financial operations by performing a variety of accounting tasks such as maintaining records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. Responsibilities:

• Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash deposits.
• Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Review revenue collections to ensure alignment with budgets, ordinances, and contractual agreements.
• Reconcile receipts to general and subsidiary ledgers across multiple departments.
• Monitor departmental expenditures and generate monthly reports for utility usage and other costs.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of the annual budget and financial reports, including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
• Conduct financial analyses for capital improvement projects and maintain detailed project records.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial data for revenue and expense projections.
• Manage unclaimed property reporting in compliance with state regulations and maintain organized financial records. Requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and general accounting principles.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Experience with preparing journal entries and financial reporting tasks.
• Familiarity with GAAP accounting standards and guidelines.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing records and documentation.
• Ability to conduct financial analyses and prepare detailed reports.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with departments and responding to inquiries.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting tasks.
