We are a unique homeowners association (HOA) with an active on-site business presence, including rental operations, a seasonal bar, and regular community events. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our residents and guests while also driving financial sustainability through diverse revenue streams. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of our accounting operations and support our financial growth and transparency.
Position Overview:
This is a full-charge bookkeeping role responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for the HOA and its affiliated LLC. This includes overseeing rental income, bar and event sales, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced, and familiar with the nuances of HOA accounting and hospitality-based revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger and reconcile all accounts monthly Track and report income from rental properties, bar sales, and event revenue Process and manage accounts payable and receivable Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to the HOA Board Manage payroll and related taxes for onsite staff Reconcile bank accounts and merchant services statements Track budgets vs. actuals for both the HOA and LLC Ensure proper categorization and tracking of expenses across departments (e.g., maintenance, hospitality, events) Coordinate with Financial team for tax filings, audits, and annual reporting Maintain accurate and organized financial records Suggest and implement financial process improvements for increased efficiency
Qualifications:
Minimum 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a property management, HOA, or small business environment Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software (We use QuickBooks Desktop Pro) High attention to detail and accuracy Familiarity with bar/restaurant POS systems and merchant account reconciliation Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong organizational and communication skills Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred Experience working with HOAs, real estate, or rental income structures is a plus
