- Supports the credit balance team in resolving complex issues on patient accounts.
- Essential Functions
- + As a Lead Credit Balance Representative, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for the following: + Researches, validates and approves adjustments and refunds + Provides training and coaching to credit balance team while maintaining confidentiality + Confidential presentation of individual credit balance team’s Quality Assurance (QA) audits + Timely coordination and resolution of compliance, third-party and audit refund projects + Assist Credit Balance Leadership in creating and updating department workflows + Coordination with other departments and Credit Balance Clerical team to ensure checks are printed and processed in a timely manner + Partner with finance departments to research and complete reconciliation •Skills•+ Knowledge of Rules and Regulations + Reconciliation + Advanced mathematic principles + Reading Explanation of Benefits (EOB) + Knowledge of Medical Terminology + Understanding Insurance Claims + Research Complex Accounts + Training and Coaching + Effective Communication + Confidentiality •
Physical Requirements:
- Qualifications
- + High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required + Two (2)+ years of experience in hospital or physician back-end insurance related activities (Billing & Follow-Up) required + Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare billing regulations required + Epic systems experience preferred
