Accounts Payable Specialist Position Available In Miami-Dade, Florida

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Miami, Florida. In this role, you will manage the processing of invoices, ensure accurate coding, and assist with account reconciliations and reporting. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting basics and the ability to work collaboratively with the team to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Review invoices for proper documentation and approval prior to processing payments.
• Accurately assign general ledger codes to invoices to ensure proper classification.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Update and maintain the refund system on a weekly basis after refunds are issued.
• Perform general account analyses and reconciliations, including employer benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
• Organize and file both open and closed payable records for easy accessibility.
• Collaborate with team members to provide support and improve processes and workflows.
• Actively participate in departmental, team, and company meetings as required.

• Take on additional responsibilities or special projects based on departmental needs. Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong proficiency in basic math and business calculations.
• Experience with computer data entry and the ability to adapt to new systems.
• Basic proficiency with accounting software systems and ERP tools.
• Familiarity with accounts payable functions, including ACH processing.
• Competency in using Microsoft Office applications at a basic level.
