Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting and financial tasks for our food and beverage operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, industry-specific financial practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using [QuickBooks / Xero / other accounting software] Process daily sales reports and reconcile point-of-sale (POS) transactions with bank deposits Record and categorize all expenses, invoices, vendor payments, and payroll entries Manage accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely billing and collections Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and prepare regular bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review Track inventory purchases and cost of goods sold (COGS); reconcile vendor statements Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control efforts Coordinate with external accountants or auditors as needed
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel Strong understanding of restaurant-specific accounting practices Knowledge of payroll systems and labor cost tracking a plus Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with inventory management and food cost analysis Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations affecting food businesses
