Job Description

Accounts Receivable Margaritaville Beach House 2001 South Roosevelt Boulevard, Key West, FL 33040 Come and join our TEAM! Margaritaville Beach House is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk. We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, detail oriented individual to join our Accounting team as our AR Clerk. The Accounts Receivable Clerk’s key responsibility is to ensure our company receives payments for goods and services and record these transactions timely and accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparing invoices for groups, social events, and weddings;
  • Preparing documents for direct bill applications;
  • Posting checks, credit card payments, and ACH/wire transactions;
  • Generating invoices and account statements for approved direct bill companies and providing them in the timely manner;
  • Setting up new customer accounts and applying payments on a regular basis;
  • Maintaining Accounts Receivable files and records;
  • Maintaining Accounts Receivable aging with timely follow ups for collections, such as phone calls;
  • Preparing reports for weekly credit meetings;
  • Preparing documentation for chargebacks;
  • Processing all credit card refunds and reconciling them at the end of the day;
  • Prepare daily deposit and change orders when required
  • Prepare daily cash over and short report
  • Perform monthly bank audits
  • Answering all guest phone calls and emails. Researching any billing discrepancies and inquiries and providing timely follow up with the guests/customers;
  • Communicate articulately and efficiently with all Team Members and Managers/Directors in a respectful, polite manner.
  • Ability to work with limited to no supervision.
  • Ability to work as a team and alone.
  • Assist Controller complete Month-End processes;
  • Assist Controller with any special projects assigned;
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting while complying with federal, state, and local financial requirements;
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

Preferably but not required an Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Accounting. Preferably six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Emphasis placed on accuracy in transposing and accounting calculations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand basic accounting relationships between Assets, Liabilities and Equity.
