Accounting Assistant Position Available In Orange, Florida

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant in the construction industry, located in Orlando, Florida. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for handling accounts payable, maintaining accurate records, interacting with subcontractors and suppliers, and providing necessary support to the office management.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process accounts payable invoices and set up new vendors
• Maintain and monitor insurance certificates for subcontractors, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Handle and organize accounts payable documents such as invoices, delivery notes, and other proofs of service
• Maintain a tracking sheet in Excel with relevant information about deliveries, costs, etc.
• Provide necessary assistance to project staff regarding JD Edwards, cost accruals, payment dates, etc.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to gather necessary information and documentation
• Offer support to the Senior Office Manager or Office Manager as needed
• Assist in managing payroll, including time entry and processing of certified payrolls
• Answer general inquiries from staff and direct them to the appropriate office personnel
• Maintain a positive working relationship with the various administrative departments
• Implement and maintain internal controls in line with company policies
• Handle record storage and audit prevention tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Familiarity with ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning
• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Functions
• Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in Auditing
