Description
Summary:
Maintain an organized system of Accounts Payable, worked with a heavy volume of invoices, verified coding, authorized signature, and sales tax. Maintain open communication with vendors and other department managers. Prepare vendor payments in accordance with vendor due dates. Monitor AP aging and vendor statements. Prepare monthly reconciliation and month-end reports.
Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices in a timely manner including coding, posting, verify authorized manager signature, and verifying the proper sale tax is being charged. Electronically file all invoices. Process vendor payments in accordance with vendor terms.
Monitor AP aging and vendor statements.
Prepare monthly reconciliation for in house accounts.
Prepare month end reports. Do appropriate computer maintenance.
Special assignments as requested by management.
Seeks opportunities to improve processes to ensure efficiency with payment of invoices. Communicates invoice discrepancies to appropriate parties and tracks outstanding items Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate:
10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry,
Spreadsheet, Word Processing
Typing Basic:
Accounting, Database
Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently
Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc.
