Accounts Receivable Specialist Location:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Compensation Range:

Hourly, non-exempt $20-$25/hour This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in accounting and an interest in collections to grow their career in a supportive, team-oriented environment. In this role, you’ll help manage customer accounts, follow up on outstanding invoices, and support our accounting team with day-to-day receivables tasks. We provide training and mentorship to help you succeed and grow within the company. Key Responsibilities Monitor accounts receivable aging reports on a regular basis. Contact customers via phone and email to follow up on past-due invoices. Document communication and collection efforts in the accounting system. Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Shipping) to resolve billing issues or disputes. Provide regular updates to management regarding high-risk or delinquent accounts. Apply payments accurately to customer accounts and support cash application as needed. Prepare reports and summaries related to collections activity and A/R status. Assist with month-end closing activities as they relate to accounts receivable. Support credit checks and help assess customer payment risk when requested. Responsible for front desk coverage and handling all incoming phone calls for the company. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.). Experience in B2B collections and dealing with large or complex customer accounts. Familiarity with commercial invoice terms, freight charges, credit memos, and purchase orders.
