Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join the Henry Morrison Flager Museum. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounts payable, general accounting, and finance administration. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Process and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments. Reconcile accounts payable transactions. Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date. Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues. Maintain vendor files and manage vendor relationships.
GeneralAccounting:
Assist in the maintenance of financial records. Perform data entry and ensure accuracy of financial information. Reconcile monthly accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
Administrative Support:
Assist with audits and other financial reviews. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files and records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excel a must. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
