This role plays a critical part in the financial health of our facility and requires a strong understanding of long-term care billing practices and regulations. The pay range for this role is $22 to $27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
Submit claims for Long Term Care Medicaid, Managed Care, and private insurance payers Monitor and follow up on outstanding account balances, denials, and maintain a log of Medicaid applications in process. Post payments, reconcile patient accounts, and process adjustments as needed Prepare monthly aging reports and assist with collections Communicate with residents, families, and third-party payers regarding billing inquiries Ensure compliance with HIPAA and federal/state billing regulations Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, particularly admissions and social services, to resolve financial issues Research insurance coverage for potential admissions
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related certification preferred Minimum 2 years of A/R or billing experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing guidelines and SNF reimbursement preferred Proficiency in billing software (PointClickCare is a plus) Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks independently At Menorah Life, you’re part of a not-for-profit senior healthcare organization with an unparalleled legacy of care and excellence, you’re a valued member of a diverse and inclusive team.
