We are seeking an experienced hands-on Controller/Bookkeeper to manage both our day-to-day accounting and higher-level financial operations. This role is ideal for an individual with experience in the construction industry who understands job costing, project billing, and contractor financial processes.

Responsibilities Manage full-cycle bookkeeping:

accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. Track and manage job costing to ensure accurate reporting on project profitability. Handle progress billing , AIA billing , and draw requests . Process lien waivers and ensure compliance with subcontractor and vendor documentation. Oversee cash flow and manage company reserves Manage collections Coordinate with CPA for tax filings, year-end close, and audits. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and internal controls. Support budgeting, forecasting, and project financial planning. Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations.

IT Management Third-Party Services:

Manage relationships with third-party IT service providers (e.g., internet service providers, cloud services, software vendors).

Procurement:

Order and manage IT-related equipment like laptops, desktops, and networking hardware.

Managing Support Tickets:

Help track and resolve IT-related issues from employees or users. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in the construction industry . Proficient with accounting software such as ComputerEase , Sage 100 Contractor, Deneb , or Foundation . Strong understanding of job costing and construction project accounting . Experience with AIA billing , lien waivers , and draw processes (required). Familiarity with payroll processing , including certified payroll (preferred). Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
