The Opportunity:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for refunding customers who have overpaid by researching unapplied cash, requesting customer disbursements, and participating in the process of reconciling ACH rejects, returned checks, and escheatment. The Specialist will process credit memos, adjustments, and payment reapplications. You will also be responsible for compiling necessary financial information for external audit testing.

What You Will Do:

Process customer refunds that are requested via the internal ticketing system
Research unapplied cash balances and issue refunds as necessary
Reapply payments that are requested via the internal ticketing system
Process payment reversals for rejects and chargebacks
Reconcile payment batches and reversals to cash daily
Process credit memos and adjustments for returns, customer accommodations, and small balance write offs
Compile all necessary data for external audit testing

The Experience You Will Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field, or 3-5 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables & V-lookups)
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, manage time and be highly organized
Ability to work and research with high attention to detail
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of accounting concepts and financial analysis

Preferred Skills:

Financial services and/or E-commerce experience
Experience with Oracle Financials
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and processes end to end with a strong attention to detail
Openness and acceptance of a rapidly changing dynamic business environment
Natural curiosity and a lifelong learner
