Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA 30331 We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing high-volume financial transactions across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. This is a fully onsite role, offering an opportunity to contribute to a growing organization during a period of expansion.

Responsibilities:

Process a high volume of vendor invoices and ensure timely payments, including weekly and bi-weekly check runs. Match invoices to corresponding purchase orders and receipts to ensure accuracy. Manage electronic payments and portal-based transactions for certain vendors. Maintain accurate vendor records and resolve discrepancies related to invoices and payments. Assist with annual audits by preparing and maintaining detailed financial documentation. Support payroll processing through cross-training and collaboration with payroll staff. Coordinate financial activities across multiple companies, ensuring proper inter-company transactions. Provide assistance during system transitions, ensuring data integrity and smooth migration processes. Contribute to month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial reporting and account reconciliation. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounts payable operations. Proven experience in accounts payable within a high-volume environment. Proficiency with accounting software systems, such as QuickBooks Desktop and ERP platforms. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with payroll processing and cross-functional financial tasks. Knowledge of accrual accounting and auditing procedures. Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime during audit periods. Experience managing financial transactions for multiple entities.
