This role is essential for accurately processing high volume transportation billing and payment applications ensuring timely payments to vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and experience with accounting software, contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial operations. Duties Enter, validate, and process high volume of invoices for payment. Prepare and execute payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries related to accounts payable and receivables. Manage outstanding customer accounts, follow up on overdue payments, and apply payments received. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks for efficient management of accounts payable and receivables functions. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances, identifying discrepancies, and working with sales and operations departments to resolve issues. Interact with vendors and customers to resolve issues and answer inquiries. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accounts payable and receivables process. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting standards. Requirements Proven experience in general ledger accounting and accounts receivable functions. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks; familiarity with Fasttrak is a plus. Strong understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, and basic accounting principles. Ability to process a large volume of transactions accurately and efficiently. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with custombers, vendors, and internal teams. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
