Accounts Payable Specialist 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Specialist will work closely with branch locations, outside vendors, and internal JAS staff to ensure invoices are processed timely and resolve any disputes. This role will conduct invoice processing, weekly payment runs, creation of journal entries mainly related to Account Payable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Process account payable invoices Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Process payments via ACH, check requests and wire payments Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing AP reports and reconciliations. Process employees company credit card transactions and out-of-pocket reimbursements Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues and discrepancies. Process the payments and receipts via the netting application Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts Other duties and projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Detail oriented, able to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines Strong organizational skills Ability to work in a paperless environment. Able to work in a team and independently Strong communication skills via phone and email. V-Lookups and the filtering of data is a plus Advanced level of MS Office, particularly Excel, is desirable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum 2 years proven work experience. Accounts Payable experience is highly desired, but not mandatory. Experience with GL, International accounting, and Cognos is a plus

ENVIRONMENT

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. No travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds .
