Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Alpharetta, Georgia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of cash applications, billing, and invoicing processes. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing account-related inquiries while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately apply daily customer payments, including checks, wire transfers, and credit card transactions, to the appropriate accounts and invoices.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies while maintaining proper documentation.
- Generate and issue invoices in line with contractual terms, purchase orders, or time and materials agreements.
- Ensure billing records are consistently updated, including customer profiles, sales tax information, and preferences.
- Provide support for month-end and year-end close processes related to accounts receivable, including reconciliation and reporting tasks.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operational teams to address and resolve billing or payment issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all transactions and procedures for internal and external use.
- Identify opportunities to enhance cash application and billing workflows.
- Assist in developing and implementing best practices and automation tools for accounts receivable processes. Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable and billing functions.
- Experience handling cash activity and reconciling payments.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle discrepancies efficiently.
