Position Overview:

Makt Trans Brokerage, a rapidly growing freight brokerage and logistics firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Specialist . This dual-role position plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy and integrity in our billing and vendor payment processes. You will support both the revenue collection cycle and carrier/vendor disbursements, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Generate and submit customer invoices daily through various platforms (email, EDI, portals such as RMIS, Coupa, Ariba, etc.) Monitor and manage aging reports; perform proactive follow-ups for outstanding receivables Post customer payments (ACH, checks, wire, QuickPay, etc.) accurately and promptly in accounting software Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in coordination with sales and operations teams Apply fuel surcharges, accessorials, and detention where applicable per SOPs Assist in monthly revenue reconciliation and provide AR reporting to leadership Accounts Payable Review and process carrier invoices for accuracy (including mileage validation, rate confirmations, detention, and TONU) Resolve carrier payment disputes in collaboration with carrier sales and operations Manage payment cycles including EFS, QuickPay requests, and weekly pay runs via ACH/check Maintain up-to-date W9 and COI records in coordination with the compliance team Assist in 1099 preparation and year-end audits General Accounting & Administration Reconcile daily bank transactions and prepare weekly cash flow reports Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation Support the accounting manager in monthly close activities Assist with implementing process improvements and automation tools (TMS integration, payment portals, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in AP/AR, preferably in the logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation industry Familiarity with TMS platforms (McLeod, DAT, Truckstop, etc.) and financial tools (QuickBooks, Excel, etc.) Strong understanding of payment terms, invoicing, and collections practices Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry and financial reporting Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, carriers, and internal teams Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with EDI invoicing and payment portals Basic knowledge of freight accessorials and logistics terminology Prior exposure to QuickPay and factoring processes
