The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with experience in accounts payable and regulatory reporting. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with relevant regulations. The Staff Accountant will work closely with various departments to support financial operations and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist with regulatory reporting requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and support. Utilize accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks for financial record-keeping and reporting. Participate in the preparation of payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation. Support the implementation of SOX compliance measures within the accounting department. Engage in public accounting tasks as needed, providing insights into financial performance. Contribute to financial report writing for internal stakeholders, summarizing key findings and recommendations. Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. Proven experience in accounts payable or similar accounting roles. Familiarity with accounting software such as M3 is highly desirable. Knowledge of SOX compliance and regulatory reporting standards is a plus. Experience in public accounting or familiarity with wills, trusts, estate law is advantageous. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
