Lawrenceville, GA Division/Department/Program:
Business Services Under supervision, performs routine Accounts Payable accounting functions, included but not limited to processing invoices (purchase orders and non-purchase orders), vendor payments (Checks and ACH), research discrepancies, and other accounting functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Receive, process and verify invoices for proper coding and approval (via paper and electronically) Ensure timely payment and processing to vendors Ensuring that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures. Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items. Communicate promptly with any internal and external vendors. Reconcile accounts (invoices statement, etc.) and compare system reports to balances. Processing daily emails. Answering vendor calls and emails and processing accordingly. Processing allocation/breakdown of invoices. Processing data entry. Researching statements/invoices and resolving any discrepancies or variances Preparing weekly completed check runs, including positive pay file, NACHA file, and EFT transfers. Processing IRS 1099’s Filing and any other task required for full cycle Accounts Payable or as assigned by supervisor. Other related duties as assigned. Min imum
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university OR high school diploma or GED AND two years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two-year degree, preferably in accounting or business or experience in a related role. Minimum of 2 years’ experience processing PO and Non-PO invoices including coding allocations. Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel. Working knowledge of accounting systems. Strong work ethic and team player. High degree of professionalism. Ability to deal appropriately with confidential material. Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills. Ability to communicate with various levels of management and staff. Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to multi-task.
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to stand from a kneeling or sitting position without using your hands (Certification Requirement). Must be able to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, move about, hear and speak. Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Must be able to respond quickly to sounds. Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
