RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect and enter employee payroll documentation into QuickBooks program. Maintain payroll information in Excel workbook by collecting, calculating, and entering data including but not limited to employee name, hire date, rate of pay, hours worked and total compensation for each pay period. Update payroll records by entering changes in rate of pay, exemptions, insurance coverage, as well as job title and division transfers. Receive and verify time sheets Pay employees according to productivity reports and verified time sheets. Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests upon consent. Maintain payroll operations by following all payroll guidelines, policies and procedures. Keep supervisor informed on an as needed basis of any issues or concerns with payroll issues. Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records. Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies. Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed. Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions. Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash. Assist in other payroll & accounts payable tasks as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with QuickBooks preferred Proficiency in Excel Must be detail oriented and have great organizational skills Good time keeping skills and ability to meet strict deadlines Strong mathematical skills Prior payroll experience preferred Bachelor’s degree preferred High School diploma required
