Accounts Payable Specialist Position Available In East Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic and fast-growing team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization within the Health Pharm/Biotech industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing accounts payable processes while supporting the overall financial operations of the company. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle administrative and clerical tasks for the Accounts Payable and Finance Department.
• Ensure daily processes and controls are executed accurately and in compliance with company policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal business partners and external stakeholders.
• Assist with internal and external audits as needed, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Manage incoming department mail, including opening, sorting, and distributing.
• Organize, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and other financial documents.
• Verify, log, and mail checks, including prioritizing special handling requests.
• Support special projects and ad hoc assignments as directed by management. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable role preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, particularly when interacting with diverse technical and financial teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
• Knowledge of accrual accounting and general accounting functions.
• Demonstrated ability to handle account coding and auditing tasks efficiently.
