About this Job The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the Veterans’ population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity. Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Serves as Accounts Payable for the facility, receiving purchase orders (PO’s) from Purchasing Agent and file until received invoice.
- Checks all invoices for accuracy and match to PO.
- Provides warehouse personnel copies of all PO to re received in LAGOV.
- Performs audits of cardholder transactions.
- Receives and reviews residents’ requests to disburse payments from the residents’ funds to various vendors, family members or to the resident themselves.
