Accounts Payable Specialist Position Available In Jefferson, Louisiana

Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team in the construction industry based in New Orleans, Louisiana. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for managing our financial transactions and obligations. This role involves overseeing invoice processing, payment management, and ensuring the smooth operation of all accounts payable functions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of company vendor invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor discount opportunities and manage purchase order, contract, and invoice discrepancies.
• Carry out month-end tasks and create financial reports for upper management.
• Maintain a comprehensive record of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders and invoices.
• Ensure the general ledger is accurate and up-to-date.
• Develop and update accounts payable processes and procedures as necessary.
• Regularly reconcile the payable account to guarantee accuracy.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to entry level accounts payable team members.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors as required.
• Handle all aspects of accounts payable, maintaining high levels of integrity in the payment process. Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is required.
• Familiarity with accounting software and programs, such as Viewpoint or Sage.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on information available.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
• Willingness to continue learning and adapting to new technologies or changes in the industry.
