Job Description

Business Office Specialist Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation 839 North Range Avenue, Denham Springs, LA 70726 LTC Care facility seeks to hire Business office specialist to join our team. Please submit resume for consideration. Applicants should have knowledge of LTC Medicaid requirements.

Job Summary:

Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable, bank deposits, daily census records and reports, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as documentation for balance sheets, profit and loss statements, various tax returns, and cost reimbursement reports. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Education:

High School Diploma or GED required; courses and college classes in bookkeeping, accounting, and finances preferred.

Certification:

As required by state and federal regulations.

Experience:

Minimum requirement of two years bookkeeping experience preferred.

Job Knowledge:

Some typing and telephone skills, use of calculators, computers, adding machines, familiarity with chart of accounts, basic bookkeeping skills, tax reports, financial reports, government agencies that relate to finances (Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service), and w-2, w-4 and 1099 forms.

Other:

Ability to work with people, meet deadlines, organize and prioritize the work load.

Responsibilities:

§ Keep financial records current. § Pay bills and take discounts offered. § Make bank deposits. § Maintain census information. § Pay taxes when required. § Supply requested information to home office, accounting firm (CPA), auditors, etc. § Prepare accounting reports. § Maintain vendor files. § Collect accounts receivable and prevent past-due accounts. § Work with third party payers. Maintain proper documentation with state agency (142, 18LTC, etc.)
