Job Description

Bookkeeper
Robert Half has an opportunity for a Bookkeeper with our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. The job function lies in the industry of finance and accounting, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and verifying financial transactions. You will be working in a collaborative environment, dealing with financial data and records. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Establishing a system for financial transactions, including the creation of a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
  • Verifying, allocating, and posting transactions to maintain accounts
  • Ensuring the accuracy of accounts by reconciling entries
  • Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring its balance
  • Filing documents to maintain quality historical records
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information to prepare financial reports
  • Reviewing payments received, crafting Accounts Receivable invoices, and recording deposits
  • Utilizing skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, Bookkeeping, Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Payroll, and QuickBooks to perform duties effectively
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of Bookkeeping principles
  • Strong Data Entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Month End Close processes
  • Knowledge of Payroll systems and procedures
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks software
