Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist for Interventional Pain Private Practice Interventional Pain Private Practice 16070 Doctors Boulevard, Hammond, LA 70403 Interventional Pain private practice in Hammond, LA is seeking a motivated, well-organized and versatile applicant to serve as a medical accounts receivable specialist. Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to, all the essential functions listed below. Essential Functions Cross-checking claims denied for eligibility/benefits issues with the eligibility and benefits information on file to determine proper course of action. Reviewing patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and obtaining any missing information. Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe. Checking insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract discount. Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments. Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances. Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient. Researching and appealing denied claims. Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts. Working patient collections worklists. OTHER Principal Duties Other duties that may arise from time-to-time and/or are commensurate with the title and position. Education, Experience AND Special Skills Required A minimum of 1-3 years of recent experience in medical billing required (this position does not require coding knowledge for purposes of initial claim filings) Preferred NextGen practice management software experience Preferred experience with and/or knowledge of Interventional Pain Medicine and Neurology billing Excellent computer skills and interpersonal skills Knowledge of full revenue cycle (processing claims, resolving denials, maximizing reimbursement, A/R) Must be customer service focused Ability to multitask Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings The ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
