Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing payment processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting expertise and experience working with various financial systems.
Responsibilities:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with company policies.
- Manage accounts payable transactions, including ACH payments and vendor reconciliations.
- Utilize accounting software systems such as Concur and ERP platforms to streamline workflows.
- Perform audits and reviews to identify discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
- Monitor accrual accounting processes to maintain proper balance sheet reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining vendor records and updating payment information.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes related to accounts payable.
- Generate detailed financial reports to support decision-making and compliance.
- Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of accounts payable operations. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable or related accounting functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Concur and ERP platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and account coding.
- Familiarity with auditing processes and financial compliance standards.
- Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and vendor management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
