The Academy of Notre Dame, Tyngsboro, a Catholic private school, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, is based on the educational philosophy of their foundress, St. Julie Billiart. The Academy of Notre Dame is seeking a full-time, in-person Bookkeeper. Reporting to the President, and working with the CFO Consultant, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for basic business functions including payroll, benefits, vendor payment, and other basic bookkeeping functions.
This position plays an integral role on the Management team, working to support the fiscal wellbeing and management of the Academy. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have strong bookkeeping experience, and the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, confidential, and fast paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare payroll
Manage accounts payable
Create and process new hire paperwork
Inform, update and manage employee benefit plans
Maintain personnel records
Implement student billing transactions, process tuition payments, and ensure accounts are up to date
Facilitate the purchase of budget-approved equipment and supplies
Maintain all insurance records and rental contracts
Track loan payments and banking records
Complete quarterly financial reports
Communicate with the Principal regarding department purchasing
Track fundraising revenue and record all money coming into the school from
events, departments, clubs, etc.
Support the annual audit, working with third party vendor
Make adjusting entries based on auditors reports
Acquire and processes data for financial reports
Track and post donations
Monitor past due accounts and update aging report
Participate in the annual budget process
Prepare for, schedule and support annual outside audit
Conduct banking activities
Work with Board committees as needed
Attend school meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned
