Job Description
Payroll / AR Specialist Confidential Stoughton, MA 02072 Payroll / AR Specialist, Stoughton, direct hire, $70-$80k Accounts Receivable Accurately process accounts receivable transactions in line with internal policies. Verify incoming payments and record transactions properly. Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy. Review AR transactions for compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Prepare management reports, including aging and delinquent account summaries. Analyze bad debt trends and suggest improvements for AR management and vendor communication. Handle ad hoc billing tasks and address customer inquiries related to invoicing issues. Payroll Manage payroll for both salaried and hourly employees while ensuring adherence to time-off policies. Maintain precise payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and garnishments. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently. Prepare and distribute payroll-related documents and accounting reports. Process multiple payroll cycles accurately using Paylocity. Work closely with HR on payroll-related updates and issues. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for compensation items such as payroll, PTO, bonuses, and taxes. Support internal and external audits, including financial, 401(k), and workers’ compensation audits. Collaborate with HR to implement and maintain compliant benefit programs. Lead initiatives to improve payroll processes and implement automation. Handle year-end payroll tax reporting, including preparation of W-2s, T-4s, RL-1s, 1099s, and related forms. Participate in system implementations (ERP, BI, EPM) that impact payroll functions. Ensure payroll processes and procedures are well-documented and up-to-date. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years in full-cycle payroll processing. At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable. Proficient in Paylocity or similar HRIS platforms. Strong knowledge of Excel, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Advanced skills in spreadsheets, presentations, and database applications. Familiarity with ERP systems like Infor, Syteline, or Intellidash is preferred.
