Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Wells, Maine. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to support the accounts payable process and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in accounts payable and strong organizational skills to help streamline operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
  • Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Handle check runs and ensure proper documentation for all disbursements.
  • Enter data into accounting systems with precision and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Maintain and organize records for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and Oracle to manage accounts payable processes.
  • Prepare reports and summaries related to accounts payable activities.
  • Support the team in meeting deadlines and adhering to financial policies.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements
  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Word.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Oracle.
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of coding invoices and processing payments.
