AP/CP Pathologist
York, ME Responsibilities:
Serve as the sole AP/CP board-certified pathologist providing comprehensive coverage for York Hospital
Function as the Medical Director, taking full responsibility for all laboratory initiatives, leadership, and guidance.
Independently oversee and sign out a diverse range of anatomic surgical pathology cases.
Provide expert general clinical pathology consultation and interpretation.
Lead and actively participate in monthly quality assurance and process improvement meetings.
Serve as the primary point of contact and provide guidance to hospital and laboratory staff on all pathology-related matters.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
(Optional) This position includes approximately 50% administrative responsibilities and 50% dedicated to anatomic and clinical sign-out.
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage all aspects of a hospital pathology service.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills to build strong relationships with clinical and laboratory staff.
Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) by the American Board of Pathology is required.
Must possess an active medical license in the State of Maine or have the ability to obtain one.
Progressive and demonstrable hospital leadership experience, with the confidence to lead independently.
