Position Summary
Assistant Professor

  • Accounting

    Harrison College of Business and Computing
    Primary Responsibilities
    Teach Accounting courses within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs
    Normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester and may involve traditional, blended/hybrid, and online instruction
    Advise undergraduate/graduate students
    Participate in student recruitment and retention activities
    Produce scholarly publications consistent with AACSB accreditation and institutional standards
    Provide department, college, University, and professional service in accordance with departmental tenure and promotion guidelines including participation with student organizations and networking with representatives from the accounting profession
    Support with student recruitment and retention efforts
    Comply with accreditation standards
    Required Qualifications
    Ph.

D., DBA or ABD (doctorate completion by August 2025) from an AACSB-accredited doctoral program either majoring in Accounting or Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting). The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting.
Professional certification in Accounting (e.g.

CPA, CMA

)
Teaching and research expertise in Cost/Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, and/or Accounting Data Analytics with an interest in teaching other areas
Demonstrated ability to deliver highly effective teaching for a variety of courses in Accounting
Demonstrated ability to produce quality peer-reviewed research related to Accounting
Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor students
Evidence of effective communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal)
