Mungenast Lexus of St Louis is hiring an Experienced Automotive Accounting Assistant. Only experienced automotive accounting applicants should apply. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in dealership accounting, that has knowledge of financial statements and preparing reports using Excel. Duties include but are not limited to: Has a general understanding of how all transactions from sales, expenses, AP, AR, purchases and expenses flow through journals and schedules and the effects they have on the financial statement. Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer’s format and time frame. Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management and/or dealer principal. Manages Payroll Admin and backs them up when on vacation Maintains an effective cash management system, and forecasts daily cash needs. Manages the payoff of vehicle floor plan and works with bank representatives. Controls petty cash amounts for dealership and sales department. Controls all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions, and additions and changes to inventory Reviews all expenses are posted for the month and maintains monthly expense sheets as well as prepares monthly financial review spreadsheets and present to Department Managers and Dealer Principal. Calculate and posts Monthly commissions Participates in the preparation of short and long-term forecasts with General Manager. Stays abreast of current factory incentives and codes deliveries on dealership computer system accordingly. Ensures compliance with all government regulations. Prepares monthly Sales, quarterly, tire, battery and use tax returns in a timely, accurate manner. Balances monthly bank statements. Prints monthly journals, schedules, and general ledger. Closes month by processing accounting month-end. Adds new accounts and relates mapping to financial statement, updates DOC and assures it balances with the financial statement. Assists in completion of annual review/audit with CPA office. Pay is hourly and will range between $22-$24 an hour. Experience with Reynolds/Ignite preferred.
